Privacy
The short version
Overknight doesn't ask for your name, email or any account. There are no ads, no tracking cookies and nothing is sold to anyone.
What stays on your device
Your zoom level and sound settings are kept in your browser's local storage and never leave your device. The game also keeps a copy of your progress there so it works offline.
Your saved knight
So your knight can follow you to another device or a friend's town, the game saves your progress (bones, town upgrades, town damage and the name you chose) on our server. It is stored under a random backup code made on your device, not under your name or email. Anyone with that code can load the knight, so keep it to yourself. We only keep the latest save. You can delete it any time: open the menu, tap Backup code and choose Delete my cloud save. That device then stops saving to the cloud.
Playing with friends
When you join a party, the other players in it see the name you chose, where your knight is, your health and the pings and canned lines you send. There is no text or voice chat. If you open your town to anyone, its host name and player count appear on the open towns board. Party connections end when everyone leaves, and nothing about a party is kept afterwards.
What our servers see
overknight.app is served by Cloudflare. Like any website host, Cloudflare processes basic request information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse. We don't use that information to identify you.
The game page loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives a standard web request for them.
Contacting us
If you send a message from the support page, it goes to us through Formspree, a form service. We see the email address and message you send and use them only to reply.
Children
Overknight doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this changes, for example when app store versions arrive, this page will be updated first.
